A Day of Remembrance

Return To Posts

On November 11 we all should take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices Canadian soldiers made in the two World Wars. Thousands of men and women took up our quarrel with the foe and did what they could, whether it was fighting on the front lines or providing nursing care behind the lines.

I wonder if young Canadians would answer the call to duty in the same way as their forefathers and mothers did. Would they have the same courage in the face of adversity as soldiers did fighting in such battles as the Somme, Hill 70 or at the D-Day landings?

When we reflect back on November 11 about the bravery, fortitude and perseverance of those who fought in the Great Wars let us give thanks for their individual efforts to vanquish the enemy and how we can do all we can to prevent such catastrophes from happening again.
